Psyonix has sometimes released prank updates in Rocket League on April Fools' Day over the years.
Events Per Year[]
On April Fools' Day in 2023 a new in-game LTM appeared called Eggstra Special Mode.
They also released the player anthem "Never Gonna Give You Up" by Rick Astley in the Item Shop which can be purchased for 300
Text chat was also disabled, and several different quick chat responses had their text replaced when used during a match!

On April Fools' Day in 2022 a new LTM in-game appeared called Confidential_ThirdWheel_Test, Which let players took control of an Octane with only 3 wheels.[1] [2] They also changed crowd audio which included a screaming fan in the background.[3] Players who logged in during the april fools event also recieved the Free Player Title.
On April Fools' Day in 2021, there were no game-altering pranks, but the Drink Helmet topper was re-released in the Item Shop for 0 Credits.
GifYourGame[]
In 2021, the popular Rocket League clip-saving tool GifYourGame also did something for April Fools' Day. Clipping a Rocket League play using GifYourGame revealed a jester ball.[4]
For April Fools' Day in 2020, Psyonix did nothing.
On March 31, 2019 as part of an April Fools' Day joke, Psyonix changed the casual playlist icons and descriptions.
